Overview

Simikot Hilsa Trekking is considered the trek to one of the most outlying places in Humla district in Nepal. Simikot-Hilsa trekking trail is opened in 1993, which covers the tropical to alpine climate zone and goes along the Karnali, the longest river in Nepal, which spread the great diversity of rare flora and fauna as well the landscapes. The economically deprived Bhotia people inhabited in a remote area are rich with their distinct preserved cultures and the great history. They follow the ancient Buddhist religion originated from Tibet. The society, based on agriculture and animal husbandry, still practice Polyandry marriage system.

The Simikot-Hilsa Trekking can also be operated in monsoon as the Humla region is in “rain shadow” geographical position. Trekking in Simikot and Hilsa offers the tropical to alpine vegetation and we may come across with different animals like wild yaks, barking deer, blue sheep, musk deer, wild horses, Himalayan black bear and even the spotted snow leopard. The trail passes by many isolated but beautiful villages offering the opportunity to experience their traditions and customs, to recognize the history and explore the old-age monasteries built more than thousand of years ago. Similarly the breathtaking scenery and majestic view of Saipal and Nalakankad mountains with holiest land on earth, the Mt. Kailash is the admirable reward that cannot be gained in other trekking areas of Nepal. The Pristine beauty and wilderness of nature, unique culture and rich history of innocent and friendly inhabitants, along the trekking trail are still unexplored and are loftly welcoming all the enthusiasts to enjoy its beauty.

The Simikot Hilsa Trek is normally commenced from Simikot by flying from Nepalgunj to Simikot. Passing through numerous isolated and culturally rich villages and valleys, climbing steep passes, crossing many rivers, walking through jungle and bare land, exploring the unique customs and monuments, encountering with different animals, experiencing different climates and enjoying scenic view reach the final destination of trekking, the Hilsa town. Then following the other path of trekking trail finally, the trek concluded in Simikot itself.

Best time to trek.

The best seasons for trekking to the Simikot Hilsa trek are Autumn (Sept to Dec) and Spring (March to May). The weather is sunny and warm making the views outstanding in these seasons. The weather condition is the primary issue during the Winter (Jan to Feb) season for trekking to Simikot Hilsa trek. The region offers a freezing cold during winter. Just opposite to this, the Simikot Hilsa trek gets affected by monsoons during Summer/ rainy season (June to August). Nevertheless, this time is the appropriate time for a keen and enthusiastic Botanist.

Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia.

It is a paradisematic country, in which roasted parts of sentences fly into your mouth. Even the all-powerful Pointing has no control about the blind texts it is an almost unorthographic life One day however.
