Overview

Mansalu Circuit Trek over the Larke La Pass (5135m) is considered one of the most popular trekking destinations in Nepal. Mt. Manaslu, “The Spirit Mountain” in the local dialect, is believed to home the strong deities. The local food and accommodation available there is best described as ‘primitive’. One of the challenging aspect of this trek is to cross the Larkya La Pass than any other passes including the longest, Thorung La pass of Annapurna. Trekkers have an opportunity to explore the incredible mountain scenery via Manaslu Circuit Trek. Trekkers can also experience the preserved traditional Tibetan norms, values and culture which no longer exist in other destinations.

Manaslu Trekking is listed in the top 3 must visit trekking destination in the world by the tripadvisor.com in 2014. The Manaslu Circuit Trekking is conducted around the Mt. Manaslu (8163m), the eighth highest mountain, standing isolated in the middle of Nepalese Himalayas near Tibetan border. The Manaslu Circuit Trekking Route, opened in 1992, bears the most vertical trekking trail ranging from an elevation of 530m in Arughat to 5135m in Larkya Pass. It bears unsurpassed beautiful landscapes and culture along with a vast diversity of flora and fauna,.

Manaslu Circuit Trek starts from Arughat after 7-8 hours’ drive westward from Kathmandu and ends in Besisahar, the entry point of Annapurna Circle Trek. The trekking trail leads us along the Budi Gandaki River through green countryside, exploring culture of small Tibetan styled villages. The Manaslu Curcuit trek offers the amazing views of beautiful landscapes and natural wonders often giving opportunity to encounter different birds and endangered animals. After crossing alpine meadows, we stop at Samagaun, the biggest village, for acclimatization and/or exploration of nature and culture. The trek takes us to Birendra Tal and Pung Gyen Gompa and/ or hiking to Manaslu Base Camp (4500m). After then the trail leaves the greenery and walking begins through the deserted land, glaciers, rocky path towards the Larke La pass where the unbelievable and life time memorable scenery of Himalayas appeared. The trail descends continuously to the Besisahar, the trek ending point from the Larkey La pass.
